I owe it all to Timmy for saving me! It was supposed to be windy for the later matches so I was going to shoot a different rifle. At 400-29X the plan changed! The wind stayed down, the sun didn't shine and I got lucky!!!

We are incredibly fortunate to have an amazing club at Bayou Rifles. Very good facility (and getting better all the time!) and some amazingly good shooters. All around good folks. We are truly blessed.

My target picture here below …. New club record at 1K and one that ties the NRA National Record (Senior ). Fortunately my gun was shooting very well.

I always say every match at Bayou Rifles is like a top national match. Where else can you shoot the best round of your life, tie a national record and then loose the 1st place podium?? Congrats to Doug for an amazing round! That was amazing shooting …..!

Congratulations to Doug Skogman aka the Fonz aka Mr Wind Zero! The Fonz posted a monster score of 600-45x for new Bayou Rifles Gun Club range and club record. Also to mention Tom Murphy posted 20 shot range and club record with 200-18x. Pretty incredible scores these guys posted at 1000 yards today! Many super nice scores posted just before rain storm rolled in.

Congratulations to Doug, Murf and all of the others who posted some of their personal best scores!

Dougie will be added to a short list of 600 points clean day at 1000 yard records.
David Mann who was the first to shoot 600 score total at 1000. Next was Mark Walker. Then was several years before Peter John and Timmy Vaught both posted 600-41’s on the same day. And I believe it was a few club matches later Timmy Broke that record with 600-42x. Now Dougie will be added to the short list with his monster score of 600-45x!

Hats off to Murf @MontanaCreedmoor for the 200-18 and of course the Fonz @dskogman for "crushing like grape" (a phrase best spoken with Russian accent) the existing 600-41k club record.

Doug scoffed at my warnings in lending him a box of my ammo that day, as I told him it was really optimized to be shot on Relay 1 only. Additionally since it did actually sprinkle a singular drop of rain in Brazoria county during the match, this ammo wasn't ST6 certified either.

Because he's humble, I'm going to post how good Doug can shoot on his 3rd match of the day. WITH BORROWED AMMO! This is why we call him the Fonz.
