I am having Printer Problems . No change in Computer or Printer . On only certain Sites ( this being one of the Problem Sites ) I go thru the same old procedure to Print out desired information . However , now I get the Print out in a near Vertical Format only two or three words wide . Any suggestions on what may have changed , and only on some Sites ?

Start by re-booting your computer. Make sure you don't have any alerts showing on your
screen. How old is the printer? Did you recently change or add anything like a virus program?

Offhand, I'd guess that it was some kind of margin setting. Does this behavior happen in multiple browsers, or just one?

yeah, sound like browser formatting rather than an actual printer problem.

cut and past to a text file and print from there may be a work-around

I just tried print preview on this page and the quote in my post #4 comes out 1 word wide.
I that your symptom?

Have not changed anything like a Virus Program . The Printer : Canon MX310 is years old . I only use Firefox and they do Update (Whatever they call an Update ) quite often . This often does weird things like disappearing my Bookmarks . My Computer ability is minimal so I will read nbkky71's listing and go from there . Usually if I find a pathway , the Geek Squad will help me out on the phone . Thanks for the suggestions .

Are you simply printing the entire page?
If I print preview from firefox the default looks terrible.
If I just change the size to 50 or 60% it looks ok.

kzin , I Highlight what I want to Print , Click on Ctrl P . , Click on Selection , Click on OK .....Then I get a Printed Vertical Column 2 or 3 Words Wide .

The popup where you click selection has Page Setup and Options tabs at the top

in page setup set scaling to 50%

in Options make sure ignore scaling is NOT checked

That seems to make a difference whether I get a narrow column or a reasonable page.

Chrome works fine.
