Composite stock pore filler?

I had to open up the barrel channel a fair bit on a B&C composite stock for a carbon barrel. What's a good material to fill and seal the voids so I can paint it. I'm out in rain and snow a fair bit so hopefully something better than Bondo but not too hard to find. Thanks

JB weld will work as well
For something like that, I use duraglass. I use thick heat shrink over the barrel and just bed the bbld action into the duraglass in the bbl channel. It sure works a lot easier than epoxy. Then take the heat shrink tube off. Do you see any issues with my process? I should add that smc resin and duraglass are compatible and use the same hardener. That lets me get the consistency I want as well as the adhesion qualities of the smc mixture.

Epoxy mixed with micro balloons mixed to a paste like consistency. Lay it down like you would bondo and sand if needed.
Where does one get micro balloons on a small scale? I have been interested in trying some, but all I can find are industrial quantities for prices that are too expensive to tinker with.

Mike, you know I'm a 3M panel bonder guy at heart. Lol
Duraglass and SMC repair materials are great products for fixing composites.

To keep his repair small, economical, and simple is why I suggested JB's.
Mix a dab and apply with a single edge razor blade.

For some repairs I use this equivalent to Duraglass, it sands way easier with fewer pin holes.
With this product and 3m panel bonder I reconstructed the header panel on this Elcomino, grill mounting tabs included.20240211_113222.jpg
Super Charger is basically the HONEY in our fillers, works great in smoothing out products. Fiber glass resin can also be used in a pinch.20240211_113814.jpg

Thanks bud. It was not a trick question at all. Just wanted your opinion is all. I like it because it works so easily and fast. Lets me blend a nice even bbl channel with minimal work using the heat shrink tubing. It comes in different thicknesses and just works great imo, for creating a clean and even gap.

Sorry Mike I was misunderstanding.
I imagine the shrink tubing is the cats meow doing the barrel channel, that's a solid tip to success!!

The Upol fiber is a sweet product when you need more kitty hair, I think you'll like it's ease of use and durability.

Where are you getting your heat shrink? I actually thought about doing this on a recent project and I didn’t find the appropriate heat shrink available at a reasonable cost.
