Compass Lake E, 22 uppers

Semi-autos. Apparently their version doesn't lock back following the last round, which makes practicing rapid fire more difficult.

I bought one of the CLE SR uppers several years ago, expecting to use it mainly for offhand & prone slowfire practice. Mine worked well as a repeater, but the lack of recoil worked against using it for rapidfire practice as it screwed up my shooting cadence since I tended to shoot faster with it than I did with my 223 SR.

When used in slow prone with good quality match ammo, that upper was plenty accurate enough for practice at 100yds, and taught me a lot about my prone position. For offhand practice, I shot it mostly with entry level practice ammo like SK Std+ at 50yds. I sold it to a friend after I legged out, and he got as much good out of it as I had, legging out within a year or less after buying it.

Thanks everyone for their reply. Just wanted to let people know I found a used CLE 22 upper on the US Rifle team forum. There is a lot of other items for sale for the high power shooter. Just want to pass it on. Thanks, nilebartram
