Good Morning Everyone!

Jeff Summers, Harley Baker and I just recorded and uploaded a new video on YouTube last night on our "All Things Benchrest with Friends" channel.... "Common Benchrest Mistakes You Must Avoid"!
Please check it out and let us know what you think?

Thanks for watching!

Good common sense info.

They are correct about a lot of the little things that seem so simple but can make the difference between being competitive or not.

The single most important thing to me is to start studying conditions from minute one. Knowing the most prominent direction and how long it sticks around simply makes life easier.

I do not like warm up matches, especially when shooting Score. At the Nationals this year, I got stuck on the first relay. The warm up was useless, because by the time I got back up there for Match one, things were entirely different. I much prefer 10 minute first Matches.

Jeff brought up the little “giizzy” thing that many of us use to get an accurate reading on exactly how much you are bumping your shoulders. And exactly where you are on the lands with a new barrel. You should really get your Gunsmith to make you one off of a barrel drop.

I take it a little further with mine. I actually mill away a portion so I can always get a quick glance at case lengths, as it represents your chamber and what your reamer actually cuts.IMG_0044.jpeg
