I have the predecessor, the Officer's Model Special. Same frame/action as the OMM and the Python, and mine shoots the 148 wadcutters very, very well. Colt has a slightly faster twist in their revolvers.
The buyer will very much enjoy this revolver.

Also a special model collector, need to add one in .22 to my stable they were higher quality then the snake guns.

There is an exceptional representative of the .22 LR model at the Lou, KY Cabela’s.
They are asking $2K.

If I did not have a 6" K-22 in the wowie! Gold and Blue box...

GLWS!!

Half a century or so ago, I lived near St Louis on the Illinois side of the Mississippi. An Uncle was ISP. They bought their own service revolvers (then autoloaders). Every four years it seemed like a new Governor was elected. Put his own stamp by having the Troopers buy his (Gov's) idea of the perfect handgun. My first hand me down was one of these with a 4" barrel. Four years later, new Gov, and a 4" Python with Stag grips. About that time the Army and I joined forces to combat communism in SE Asia. Then a S&W 39, then a 59; then I moved out here to SW Idaho and had to start buying my own.
Funny story there. Before the move, I went on to the PD, and Gil Hebard took me in. I got a S&W .41 Magnum with a 4" barrel. We got a politically correct Chief, and I got pinched at an on-shift inspection. Was told I had to ditch that. Uncle Gil to the rescue again. A like new 1955 Target that had a 6" barrel. I moved out here; and I've had 4" and 6" M29's pretty much since then. I really missed that 1955. One turned up here about a month ago. It is likely the most accurate revolver I have ever owned.
If story is not wanted, let me know and I will delete it.

Buyer got an absolute steal on a piece of true gold craftsmanship of a bygone era.

I picked up my first OMS for a good deal at 600 5 yrs ago and bluing id rate at 20% less then this model match.

Also have predecessor to both of them..the officers model target in .22 from the 40's and it's five times the shot I am.
