Colt 1911 help

I just purchased my first 1911 (thank you... I now feel like a real man) and I want a few more magazines or it.

I not a pistol guy, and don't know a good one from a bad one. Can some one point me towards (or away) from any particular brand/style for the Colt 1911 45 acp?

If anyone has a few they want to part with, I would no be against buying some used.

What prompted this was when I was looking through Midsouth's clearance items and saw this:

I have several of the mags you referenced.

I have a lot of rounds through them and they have been problem free.

+1 Wilson 47D. Gold standard.

In my younger days when my knees and back were still good, I shot IPSC matches with a .45 when .45 was still acceptable in that game (1980's). Shot Wilson and Star magazines. They both still work flawlessly in the gun which was converted back to a carry weapon (although highly customized). 8) I clean and oil them all annually between Christmas and New Years and they look great after 30 years. That reminds me... I need to do my annual ritual!

It's all opinion.

Speaking as the owner of a couple hundred mags in .45, your 1911 likes what it likes. The rest is Ford-Chevy.

Metalform magazine have served me well going on 20+ years and haven't failed yet and they have been shot a lot.

I have Wilson and Tripp, a couple of Colts, and McCormick, Checkmate..... I've got around 30 or so. I seem to favor the Tripps.

I know this is late, but check Brownell's for Wilson Combat 45 ACP Service Mag + or Brownell's house brand. 7 round only, but both work well for under $20.

Wilson 47D best way to go.

If you are qualified to purchase from the CMP, they have USGI mags (new, in wrap) in the e-store that work perfectly for me in all of my 1911s.
