Cold weather and es/sd relation

Then my comment on chronograph doesn't apply.
As soon as I can round up a good bag for the rear I’m going to go up with power and see what happens. Currently with my setup I don’t trust it or myself to try and maintain anything consistent for load development to test it out.

I think winter cold has more colums of dense air. That is why poi differs for most shooters compared to warmer weather.

I've seen the same with H4350 in a 6.5 CM using Lapua SRP brass. That has the reduced size primer flash hole, smaller than "normal" SRP flash holes.

The advice I got was to enlarge the flash holes to match, say, 223 flash hole size.

Rather than do that, I switched to LRP brass for the winter months and the problem was reduced.

I think it IS an ignition problem, H4350 may take a little more heat to get it lit off the same way as it ignites in warm weather. Even then, less than ideal conditions are going to give you less than ideal results in cold weather.

JMO, of course.

Where you using magnum or standard primers?

Standard primers, probably Federal 205 Match. Might have been CCI BR4, but I think I stopped using those before the cold weather issue.
