Co2 vs Pump

Hi,
i am brand new to air rifles so looking for some advise.

i am looking to make a resetting target based on some videos on youtube. similar to the one in this video.

my question is power and distance. the target will be at about 20 yards. will a .177 Co2 air rifle have enough power to knock down a target at 20 yards? or am i better off with a pump?

your input is appreciated.

20 yds is a lot to ask of either . For accuracy I'd go beeman ar 2078 in 22 cal with a hop up kit from Archer air guns . Great service . Most air rifle shooting is 10 meters . A variable pump has some disadvantages , most consistent velocity . The beeman uses 2 powerlets so you get 50-70 shots .depending on air temp , if you plan on using in cold weather the co2 will be temperature sensitive .
I can not say enough good things about the ar 2078 from Archer Air , he checks each rifle for leaks , very important ! The price is around $200 with target sights , target stock , fully adjustable trigger .
Don't be sold by high velocity , they use very light pellets which do not retain energy well .

thank you for your advise.
i was actually looking at that same rifle on the Air depot website. i will take your suggestion and talk to Archer Air. i will move my target up to 10M. if eventually i want to move out to 20M what type of air rifle am i looking at?

this is the beeman 2078 i was looking at.

It all depends on the mass of the knockdowns and the angle they are at.

I had some plate racks made for airguns. They are thin metal and 4" across. I use a 3 different semi auto air pistols.

One is a C02 BB pistol, a Tangfoglio Gold custom, I have to get the rack adjusted just right and if so at 6M they will all go over.

The Steyr LP5 which is a 5ftlb 17 cal will knock them all over without much fuss out to 15Y.

My Crossman 160 22 cal which is slightly more powerful will knock them over farther I'm sure but I don't shoot it farther than 20Y.

The BB pistol is the funnest. 18 BB's on tap and if one plate doesn't fall I lay into it as fast as I can pull the trigger to basically hammer it down, lol.
