cnc dillion toolhead

They are wonderful. The bottom side allows more clearance and this is great for loading the long range rifle loads. The machining on the Whidden is very, VERY nicely done. I would highly recommend them. I have them on two calibers for my Dillon 550 press. As I need more, I intend to use the Whidden.

Well I just dont have any luck. I got one of the toolheads and it had more slop than the factory one. The very nice people at whidden sent me a different one to try. It was worse than the first one. I measured the two toolheads they sent and one was .362 and the other was .358. The factory dillion toolhead is .375. This left a good bit of movement in the press with the cnc toolheads. The people at Whidden are very very nice. They said they would take the toolheads back and give a refund.

I've got a couple tool heads from Whidden... first the Dillon OEM ones he was converting, and then later a CNC version. Honestly, I never measured the thickness of the lip, as I didn't really care. In my experience, to get the most use out of these, you need to get the UniqueTek tool-head jacking bits and add them to John's tool head - takes care of any and all 'slop' in the tool-head to press fit. The real benny of John's tool heads are the more precisely machined *holes* where the dies go.

That said... it is a bit odd that 'cnc machined' parts would vary that much around the edges. Hopefully its a temporary hiccup that they have gotten past.
