CMP & Bianchi Cup

For 2023, the CMP has added one new discipline, Action Pistol. The 1st Edition CMP Action Pistol Competition Rules were released in November and a couple of minor updates have already been completed. The CMP is slated to take over the conduct of the prestigious annual Action Pistol championship, the CMP Bianchi Cup, that will take place in 2023 on 23-26 May at the Green Valley Rifle & Pistol Club near Columbia, Missouri.

I did a search to find the 2023 dates for the Bianchi Cup.
In addition to the dates, I learned this little tidbit.

Very interesting to see the NRA let this go. Good for CMP picking it up.

The NRA gave up running the match after 2019. The host range (Green Valley) would have ran the match in 2020 but Covid. Green Valley did successfully run the match in 2021 and 2022 without support from the NRA.

I believe that some of the reason is that politics of the 60s-90s pushed the NRA to be so focused on legislation/politics. I don't know when the money really started to flow but leadership there is probably people who are not dyed in the wool shooters.
But after the revelations about the last couple years(if true, lots of claims made by the atty gen of new York who is dubious at best), then it may very well be the leadership is in the looting phase of running the org into the ground.
