Clear day...

Finally after 3 weeks of nothing but T-storms, hail, winds every day I had off causing me to have shooting withdrawls a pal & I made it out for more p-dogs yesterday.
Last week when we hit the same spot we got hit by a fast moving t-storm/hail storm that rolled over the entire area for the rest of the day after only after 23 rounds shot. We got everything loaded back into the truck as it hit.
It WAS supposed to be in the mid 80s and no rain...so much for weather reports.
Anyway yesterday was very nice and the p-dogs were out in force.
This was a smaller town between a few drainages. Not fast shooting but very consistant as in shoot 10-15 shots, slowed for a short time, all back up and continue shooting. The barrels stayed cool that I did not need my water soaked barrel wrap cover for once.
Sun was out, very warm at 88* and just a slight 1-2mph breeze. The kind of days you want when on p-dogs.
The area was coverd in bodies after a few hours, and when looking through the binos Id tell my pal, "Hey they are all over in the bottom gulley" and as he brought his gun to them Id then say "Just that they are all dead"...then Id laugh messing with him.
My longest shot was just 416 yards on the one below. I came up 2 extra clicks when dialing up since I was shooting up the drainage, 1st shot when dialed up for that range (if it was flat) was at its feet making it jump a good piece. I then held on its neck when it settled back down wondering what that was. It just rolled over from the 50g vmax handload, Savage rig & suppressed.

Enjoyed the background story, as usual.

Know you get summer storms and rain. Just not familiar with your days of rain for so long. Reads like you got a bit of Florida out your way. Good shooting.

Nice job 5spd. We had rain and hail last night. Going out to scout a little in the morning, then a buddy and I are going to reduce the population on a couple of ranches.
