Cleaning Sinclair Lug Cleaning Pads

Has anyone tried cleaning the flat pads that fit into the Sinclair lug cleaning tool? I know this sounds el cheepo, but they seem sturdy enough to slosh in a jug of soap water. They only come in packs of five.

Okay, very good. Now for the question; do you do as I do? I trim the ends to fit the cone of the breech/bolt. I can reach better into the recesses.

+1, got three lug tools. one for three lug Bat & one for cone Pandas & one for every thing else!:)

I do just what Mike describes, put a patch that covers the entire head over the tool and insert into the lugs, not only does it keep the felt clean it fills the crevices in the raceways for a more thorough cleaning.

You might even want to look into the ones sold by PMA, they have a foam end that you overlay a patch so over time you are only out patches.
The foam plug is nice and big so when you push it in it expands and gets in all the nooks and crannies.

That is what I have been using. They fall apart too easily. There used to be round ones that had a mesh around them to hold them together. Have not seen them in a while.
ebay you can get 2000 for like 9.00 shipped I have bout 8000
