Is there a good method of cleaning between rounds that will keepa gun shooting good but not affect the poa. Without sighters too foul the barrel the first two are three will usually be off some, but some barrels will not shoot 50 or 60 rounds without losing accuracy. Thxs DG

clay shooting, 5 minute sightin at start no more sighters through the match unless you want to give up a clay.

In that case I would buy another barrel. We shoot 60-75 rounds every day in F-Class without losing accuracy. Get a Brux or Krieger.

how bad are your barrels copper fouled after that many rounds

Not bad at all. I had one at the World Championship that would copper foul real bad and accuracy would go out the window, so I replaced it with the backup barrel.

Word of advice: Always have two barrels chambered at the same time, this will cover you if one of them does not shoot.

I have shot 284 Shehane, 6.5x47 Lapua, 7mm FCM (short magnum), and now a 300 WSM. All get the same treatment. 1500-2500 is the barrel life expectancy.

In my limited experience copper at the end of the day isnt usually the problem. More so carbon. Good barrels take alot of work to copper foul. With a 308 I have often left barrels go to 100-130 shots without cleaning before accuracy drops off. Now with a 6 dasher, 260 improved and 284 shehane I wont go anymore than 70 without cleaning during a prize shoot. I have had barrels that wont go much more than 30 shots before coppering up and they were either in need of a) becoming a tomato stake b) rechamber or c) at least a good scrub with iosso or JB in the throat.

Might be helpful to know what rifle and caliber the OP is shooting at the moment.
