Cleaning a Creedmoor Chamber

Hi there! I got a barrel chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor that I would like to convert to .260 Rem. I won't have a micrometer before next thursday and before ordering the reamer I'd like to know whether a .260 reamer will completely erase the former chamber or if I should set the barrel back first.
Thanks for your help.

No micrometer yet, but I used an adjustable wrench(!) and compared both cases and I can see the .260 reamer won't clean the 6.5 Creed' chamber at the shoulder location. So, more lathe work to come.

Yep, just looking at the cases you'd think it'd work, but a quick comparison (courtesy of Wikipedia's info on both cartridges) shows you'll have grief at the shoulder seeing as how the Creed's got less body taper from its shorter case length and larger diameter at the shoulder.

Depending on the action that barrel's fitted to I doubt more than a thread removed would be needed, maybe even less.

Thanks for your help, it sure is more reliable than an adjustable wrench. I'm still waiting for my buddy to show up with MY micrometer...
