Classification

I shot my final score for my first classification ever in late Sept.

I saw the classification on the computer in early Dec

The physical card showed up in the mail a week or two later.

My first classification card came in similarly to you. But I would like to have an updated card with my current classification. It seems that seven months seems like a long time. I know the NRA operates on minimal clerical staff, I am still waiting for my membership card when I upgraded from an annual membership to a five year membership. I had spoke to them several times and was told it would be sent out in a couple of weeks. That was two years ago.

How often does the NRA send out updated Classification cards. I got my HM last June and still haven't received my new card.
Was this at a club you shoot regularly at? I have had situations where my competitor activity had not been updated (nor my classification), because a range submitted scores, but did not have my complete information, so my score was not reported. An email to the NRA actually cleared it up in a couple of weeks.

I shoot regular matches at the same club. All my scores have been reported and the NRA shows the new rating assigned as of June of 2018. So reporting isn't the issue, the issue is issuing a new card with my current rating.

So, the classification on the website is current, but you just don't have a card? Possible you pitched the card with NRA solicitions for money? you request a replacement card?

So why did you need a card?

Go the the classification lookup and take a screen shot with your phone that covers the classification and your NRA # so you will have proof for any match that would ask for your card; I have never been asked to produce my classification card personally.

The fundamental difference is prone with just a sling(and coat)
or prone with support (bipod or rest)

F-class is considerably 'easier' but the target is half the size so the standard is actually lower.

edit-most people call what the NRA calls 'prone' 'sling' which is probably what I should have put.
Correction, the F-class targets rings are one quarter the size of the regular NRA target rings (half the diameter.) The target has two dimensions and there is a square in the area equation of the target.
