Has anyone tried the new Athlon chronograph, looks just like the Garmiin ,it is listed for 350 Bucks at Brownells

Has it been FCC Type Approved and to be found in the wild?
Or is the release date still out in the future?

I haven't seen one available for sale yet. But I'm totally satisfied with my Garmin so there is no incentive to switch.

They are still on a Pre Order status. I think current pre order dealers are expecting early April for stock to show up. As of last week the Athlon FB page still doesn’t give an actual release date, just “Early Spring”.

As of 10 days ago a dealer posted saying his Athlon rep has said they are still on for mid April delivery.

First release is slated for April 17, 2025 which is AFTER the Trump Tariffs take effect. That $350 price becomes $437.

Does it compute standard deviation correctly (unlike the Garmin Xero)?

How hard is it to export the shot data? Athlon has no manual for it, no mention of the shot data file format. Any app they provide for it will frequently call home and may lock up your phone if you start the app while in airplane mode (much as do many ballistics apps).

Athlon's lack of details means the radar chronograph is more "scare-ware" than product.

Think I would have to wait till it proves itself. Never been one to be a beta tester on new products. But thats just me.

The Garmin is worth every penny. I had issues for years with optical, so bought the Garmin asap. One of the best such products I’ve ever purchased. Works every time, and my grandmother could run it. Great product

I`m gonna wait for all you guinea pigs to beta test the Athlon Ranger Chrono first, and see how it works out. I just don`t see the Athlon blowing the Garmin chrono off the map. But we`ll see. In the mean time, i`ll try not to shoot my chronograph in the face.
