Christmas Morning Hunt!

My wife said she wanted to hunt this morning. So I set the alarm and up we got at 5:30am. I wanted to sleep honestly as I killed my big buck yesterday morning. GOT THE COFFEE GOING.. took for ever to get done.. dang cheap coffee maker. Sit around and drank some nice strong coffee. My wife said oh wow this coffee is strong!. I said yeah, I wanted a little coffee In my coffee this morning.... as yesterday morning my father in law made it and it was very weak, like drinking flavored water.


Got the truck started and warmed up! and off we are, dripped the wife off at her blind.. and DAMN, Im out of copenhagen..

I told myself, this morning will never come again, Cant get it back... so I continued on to my blind... 28 degrees this morning!

Crawled up in my blind, and got my Mr. Heater little biddy going... Im warm and toasty now. legs a starting to burn through my jeans it so warm actually...

Suns cimg up, owls are hooting, the bobwhite quail just woke up and are calling in the bushes umder and around my stand. Dead calm, no wind, just fresh crisp cold air!

So it just is gettimg light now.... I heard a twig break and out came a nice buck, then another, then another... Got 3 bucks out, two which are real pretty, be real nice deer next year.

The air is so cold and thin I can hear the deer chewing 100 yards away! haha.

I grunted and weased at this ol boy, he swole up right away and stared, looking forcanother buck in my direction

I got up at 4:30, my wife had to work. We sat quietly together enjoying each others company. The wind was and still is howling outside. I opted to hunt from my shooting table at the house looking out at the feeder. Not much moving in this wind.

my propane bottle froze up for a minute. it got cold quick!

saw lots of small bucks, several does, yearling spikes, and bucks that need a few more years so far this morning. A few sparred a little. I still to this day havent seen a good all out fight between two big bucks. only on tv!
