Christensen Arms bolt shroud

I've run into a problem, pulling the firing pin assembly in a Christensen action. I have the Kleinendorst tool that fits every 700 clone I own, excepting the CA........the bolt shroud is oversize for this tool.

There is no slot or hole, to pin, when I compress the FP spring, like most 700s or other clones.

Is anyone aware of a tool that will fit over the larger shrouds. It's a pita to strip this bolt, as is.

I had to make one that squeezes it from the outside instead of threading into it. Cut a keyhole in it for the cocking piece, drilled a hole on another piece of keystock for the firing pin and has 1/4” allthread between the 2 pieces. Its a pain to use but ive had to use it a few times and if i remember right i made it for a christensen bolt but use it on bolts with odd threads or bayonet fit like bats

Thanks, I may have to come up with some "southern engineering", maybe a larger tube with a lever and hook arm that will reach.

I have found I'm much better at buying stuff than I am trying to make 10 prototypes, that fail to do the job.

FWIW, I have found a solution to the oversize bolt shroud on the Christensen action, for firing pin removal.

The newer Sinclair tool, with the round handle, is made of a dense plastic and the I.D. is larger. Fairly snug fit and works perfectly.

The Kleinendorst tool is steel and ID would have to opened up. Thank you to Cade @ Christensen Arms for the info.
Luckily, I had a new Sinclair tool, only took 3 hrs to unearth it.

I thought you was trying to remove the firing pin itself not just the assembly from the bolt! My bad i led you astray. I just put a dime in a vise and pull it back if i dont have a tool for that move. I think the remington 700 owners manual shows this trick

I knew you were misunderstanding. LOL With a normal 700, it's easy to compress the spring and put a penny in the slot, to keep it compressed till you put in back into the body. The CA bolt has no slot to pin it. Not a big deal, unless you have bad arthritis and no dexterity. Or no patience.
