Choate Varmint /Sniper stock

I'm looking for a stock for my LH switch bbl. Savage. The Choate for the LA LH Savage looks like a no muss no fuss unit.

You are right, those Choate are a no fuss system. Be forwarned though, they are HEAVY.

The Varmint Model and the New Tactical are my favorites from them, find the Ultimate Sniper to me is unhandy and has too much slope on the underside of the forearm. The Varmint and Tactical have about the same same forearm which works good in either a bagged rest of from a bi pod.

I have used both for F-Class Open builds due to the weight of the bare bones stocks, plus the butt cavity is open for recoil tubes and extra weight.....both models are now available with 3 or 4 way butt plates.

I find it's best to order right to Choate, PM on the way with contact person and email addy for him.

Just saying in general they have a wide selection of style and types of stocks! Never said they have a wide selection for your savage left hand long action!! Since your dealing with a savage left hand to boot try seeing what Sharp Shooter Supply has they ONLY deal with your savages!

You might want to check with northland supply as he has take offs. Also stockade has a good selection of savage stocks.

put a ultimate varmint stock on my savage 10 and have found it to be a good stock for the money, the only thing i had to do was remove a little material under the rear tang where the safety is so the action only contacts the bedding blocks.Also found 40in lbs on the front action screw and 30 on the back really made my gun shoot.
