FEA561A3-1933-45D2-87AA-E731895A2B20.jpeg Wind was extreme Tuesday in the shooting fields. We had two canopies up to get us out of the sun and the wind tore one canopy where it attached to a pole. We had to tie them together and then tie them to the trailer. We were shooting Prarie dogs with an assortment of calibers ranging from 20 Vartarg, 221 Fireball, 6 XC, 6 Br, and 6 Dasher. Mid afternoon I pulled a quilt out of the trailer and unwrapped a 375 Cheytac weighing in at 40 pounds. I had shot it to 2500 yds the day before and had intended to try 3000 but with a bad crosswind decided not to attempt it. But while shooting dogs I notice a nice mountain that had an open spot at exactly 1760 yds.
I had a Valdada Terminator on but decided to pull it off and try my NF BEAST. I mounted it and did not take a 100 yd sighter shot since the Beast was zeroed when I took it off.
I was shooting the BEAST at 18 power due to heat and mirage. A couple of shots and I am on a rock at exactly 1760 yds in a 90 degree crosswind.
Remarkably the windage was more consistent than my elevation.
I was all over the rock. Then Glen Hamilton took a couple of shots
and was within a foot on one shot.
Next Danny Huffines took his turn. On his second shot dust seemed to come out from under the rock and Danny said that rock looks different on one corner. I could see it also.
We packed the trailer and drove a little closer to the target and I hiked over to and up the mountain. Round trip took me 1.5 hours in 90 degree temps. But it was worth it when I got up to the rock. Pics to follow....,

I thought this was a PD safari?????
You can shoot bottles and rocks at home.
Just sayin !!!! LDS :) :)
Naw. My priority on this trip was to see if the Cheytac would reach 2500 accurately and repeatedly. Last day the wind was terrible and I did not try 3000
