cheekpiece

I saw an adjustable, after market cheekpiece on Brad Sauve's rifle. Does anyone know where to get one?
Many Thanks,Crusty

That's just a standard McMillan external "saddle" adjustable cheekpiece. It is available on many of the McMillan stocks.

Some of the other stocks, such as the F-Class offer an adjusting cheekpiece that fits flush with the stock. What works best is a matter of personal preference.

Actually, if you get ahold of this guy here...

He sells add-on saddle-cheekpieces that you can put on yourself. Originally designed for M14/M1A rifles, they work pretty doggone good on regular rifle stocks.. I have one on my SSS Varmint/Tactical stock for my Savage. I'll try to snag some pictures of it here in the near future. Install is pretty easy... slide the cheekpiece on, mark where you want the holes in the stock, take it off, drill two 1/4" holes, put the saddle back on, slide the bolts in, tighten them down, mark them for length, pull them out and trim to fit and maybe chase the ends of the thread w/ a tap-n-die set. Put them back on and voila! done.
