I’d guess the clearance between the bolt handle and cheek piece would become more acceptable after the first shot.
Maybe it’s my view of the pic but wood looks fairly nice.

Can't believe this "device" was ever fired or intended to be fired with the cable ties. Assume they are to keep the pieces together for sale and shipping. I can only assume this is an experiment to find a way to access a very long barrel on a magnum without putting all the unsupported weight on the action. Extreme curiosity piece, though.

That "trigger connector" appears to be a bent Browning SA-22 ammo tube. At least the barreled action does not appear to be bubba'ed in any way

Take a look at the linkage arm between the two triggers again, it has a slot cut in it to clear the front action screw. It almost appears to be a magazine tube from a 22lr.
