Where is a good place to buy Hornady 17 HMR ammo. All the places around here want 14.99 a box.

Watch for sales online. Sometimes you can get it for around $11 per box or so. Might even get free shipping.

I sold my 17 HMR years ago. I'm not paying $14-$15 for 50 rounds on a rimfire. I loved it when they first came out. Only $6-$7 per 50 rounds

Gallensons in SLC has em for like $12.49. 22 Mag as well.. I buy several boxes every time I go to SLC, which will be this Friday again..

subscribe to the ad list at Selway Armory in MT. Few months back it was $9.99 per box and they shipped me two bricks of 500 for FREE as well. I agree with Led Slinger...Sure was nice when it was $4.99 a box!

In western Canada we are paying $18-$24 a box of 50. I shot about 60 rounds yesterday. I have a few bricks I paid around $16.50 for. It is bad when one box of 17 is equal to 2 boxes of target 12 ga. or one box of 30-30 or 308.

There is no real reason for the ridiculous price for rimfire. There is the old "whatever the market will bear" adage that applies here. The high price will discourage a lot of people. I shoot 17 in two Cz 455's, a Canadian and an American, unaltered except for scopes. Both are laser accurate. I put the crosshairs on a gopher at 100 yds or 20 yards. SPLOP! I love shooting those rifles. I have 22lr and 22mag in both Canadian and American 455's as well.

Better sell all your .22 rimfire guns too cause it's almost as pricey as .17 hmr ammo. Let's face it, ammo cost has tripled in price in the last 20 years as has everything else today. Just keep looking for deals on it and it's fairly affordable. I have a wholesale account with a company from being a gun dealer. Even wholesale costs are out of control. I can find deals on rimfire ammo from classified ads cheaper than wholesale pricing. Keep on looking.
