Cheapest but Adequate 22lr Ammo for 100yd?

Couldn't cost much to try CCI Velocitors, at 40 grain hyper-velocity. I find CCI premium cartridges HARD to beat for down-range accuracy. Not so easy to find now-a-days, but worth the attempt. Cliffy

I have tried Aguila SE (very bad); Aguila Target (disappointing); Aguila Rifle Match (maybe); SK Standard (?) Plus (promising): RWS Target (maybe) and Eley Standard (very good). The short comments are with regards to result on a 100yd smallbore target shooting from prone with a sling. The Eley Standard is no longer made and the Eley Website says that Eley Sport replaces it so I may try the Eley Sport but don't have great hopes since it's made by Aguila. Will try some of the various cheaper Federal stuff when I can find it.

Someone mentioned Eley Club which is probably very good but it's still cost higher than I want to spend.

$5 per 50 rounds make this "small stuff" premium priced. I've found all 500-550 bricks of economy ammo usable ONLY for target fare due to misfires, weakies, and stovepipes all too common. Welcome to 2009 pricing standards! Quality costs, so get used to it at the firing line. If you take your sweetie to a quality restaurant expect to drop a bundle, so why not roast some burgers at home and drop a few extra bucks at the ammo counter. cliffy
