Charge Master 1500 FIX

Powered up my Charge Master tonight and discovered the calibration and zero buttons would not work. Did a search here and on Google. Seemed like the problem was either a bad key pad or maybe dirty connection where the two pieces fit together. Didn't have much faith in the dirty connection fix but I took it apart for inspection. It looked fine to me. I did slide the two sections back together and apart a couple times. Put it back together and tried it again. No cigar! Still wouldn't work. Figured if it was the key pad I would end up buying a new scale so I played with the keys a little. Tried holding the zero and cal keys down at the same time. Nothing. Tried holding the cal key down. Nothing. Held the zero key down for about ten seconds and she went to working just like nothing was ever wrong. Hope this helps some one in the future.

If you unit is off warranty. Don't void a warranty trying to fix it yourself. OR, Make sure to use some dielectric grease on wire connections and check the pcb board for cold solder joints especially the connector for the dispenser(solder will appear glazed, not shiny). You can use flux and small amount of solder to fix cold solder points. I think the pcb boards should be humidity sealed, not sure if the vendor that manufacturers the scales for RCBS seal the boards.
