Changin the stock on an FN PBR XP

It came with a chezzy Hogue,w/o the aluminum block. I'm told, a Winchester mod. 70 should fit. As long as bolt spacing is correct. CDNN has two stocks, one off a Coyote lite and one they just call the varmint. Winchester's web site say's the coyote is a B&C with the aluminum block, the varmint is heavy fiberglass. Can anyone here steer me in the right direction? Are these B&C's or just cheapo models? Will they even fit my action? Thanks-pyscodog

I bought one of the fiberglass varmits. Turned out to be an HS Precision with the aluminum bedding block. The pad on the butt was stamped Winchester. That doesn't mean that some of them are not B&C. Call them, i'm sure they can tell you. The B&C should have flutes cut in the forearm.

I did call. The only answer was that they bought a bunch of stocks from Winchester and were selling them. Win. web page says the coyote lite is a B&C, I couldn't find the correct fiberglass stock.

From what little info I can find, the heavy fiberglass stock that CDNN has is off a Winchester Coyote or Coyote II. The coyote is an H-S and the Win. Coyote II is Bell and Carlson. Both should come with a full length bedding block, I hope. Ordered one on Friday and will report on what I think it is when it gets here. H-S or B&C, still will be better than the Hogue for shooting off a rest.

Kinda feel like I'm talking to myself on this, but FYI. I received the stock today. Appears to be B&C, with a full aluminum block. The FN fits the stock great. The only major problem is that the bottom metal is way bigger that the opening in the stock. Still for $99, its a deal. Thanks for all the input!

Will there be much problem inleting for the bottom metal. I am thinking that the Coyote II was designed for the post 2002 one piece bottom metal. Before 2002 the bottom metal was 2 pieces.
Another approach would be to check the PT&G website. I think they have some bottom metal that might work.

kmart- I thought about buying a Mod. 70 bottom metal, but not sure if it will work. I have a gunsmith that said he can fit the metal to my stock. He's very reasonable on his prices and does good work. I think its probably cheaper to let him install than to replace.
