Chambering ?

I have chambered a few rifles and have always just made a go gauge barely fit and it works great. But this time I have some factory shells not close up and had to ream an extra .002 to make it work. I thought a PTG go gauge would be a minimum sami spec and all factory ammo would be smaller than a go gauge. This is the first rifle I have not reloaded for and am using factory ammo. Is this standard practice to go beyond a go gauge to get all factoy ammo to work?

Thanks
Doug

As you can see, sometimes things aren't always they way they should be. I use a Zero drop on a go guage also & no issues BUT I load everything & set my dies for my chamber. Most factory chambers aren't minimum & I would GUESS that you have some ammo that isn't either. Not that the guage couldn't be off, but I'm betting on the ammo. Try a different brand or lot.
