Hi all.
I am new to the world of shooting. Started out in F Class 2 years ago. Being interested in all things technical I have a question about Chanbers, more specifically long action chambers.
I have recently purchased a rifle chambered in 284win in a long action. Tinkering down on my shed I measured the COAL which was 2.900" touching the lands.
My way of thinking (remember newbie ) would be that the reamer would be cut longer on the throat to allow for the longer VLD bullets, while not sacrificing case capacity?
I just noted that on touching the lands the bullets ( 180gn Berger's ) projected an very long way into the case, perhaps a 1/4" pass the neck give or take a bit.
Cheers
Craig
