Hello All,

I ordered 2 barrels (6.5 Creed and 6 Dash) for the same action. I'm confused by a measurement on the barrel info cards. The 'Head Space Dimension' is listed as .160 for both barrels. I'm curious as to what measurement that is?

That should be the headspace measurement assumed for the action it was setup for. Its the distance from the bolt face to the face of the receiver.

I bet that’s the go gauge/cartridge stick out from the breech face.

.834-.678= .156 + a bit of extra room (0.004) = .160.

Call whoever did the work.

My guess is the “headspace dimension” refers to a reference number they use internally to set headspace using some sort of tool vs the actual headspace dimension which would be from the tenon shoulder to the back of the headspace gauge.

Tenon length: 0.678

That’s a difference of .156. That would also be “zero headspace”. To be -.001-.002 it would be less stick out. The .160 stickout would mean the headspace is .004 short of “0”.
