CFE 223 in a 220 swift

Hello everyone
Wondering if anyone has had any luck with CFE 223 powder in the 220 swift. Getting ready to go prairie dog shooting again and like the idea of the copper fouling eraser. I will be using 55 gr ballistic tips. My current load is 55 BT and RL15 powder. Shoots good but it would be nice to cut back on the copper fouling. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Not in the Swift, but for my 2017 prairie dog hunt I shot over 3,000 rounds using CFE 223 in my 223's and 223 AI. I was using the Nosler 40 gr. BTV bullet and very happy with the results.

I had picked up some CFE 223 to try in AR's to see how it worked. Never quite got around to it. Bought a used Cooper 223 AI, and asked the guy what his best load was. 40 gr bullet and CFE 223. Since then I have used it in a number of loads and always had excellent results. I just wouldn't have expected that slow a burn rate powder to work that well, but it does.

I wanted to do the same a few years back and called Hodgden about it. They stated the combination of CFE223 being a spherical power and it's relatively fast burn rate for the Swift gave erratic results and they don't recommend it in that cartrige.

Howdy

A powder such as IMR4451 would be in the right " burn rate " range for use in the 'Swift.
And.... it has included in its formulation, a " copper fouling eliminator ".
