Up for sale is a turn key, top of the line components, ready to go f-open setup in 284 Shehane and 6Dasher.
Previously owned by Cody Richardson. Some of the below information was taken from his original post when I bought it from him in early summer 2022.
The rifle specs are as follows:
Weighs 19lb 12oz with scope/rings and barrel #2. Vortex site says scope weighs 29.5oz. Add about 4oz for rings. That would put rifle only at 17lb 11-13oz.
Action-
Kelbly RB/RP Panda Fclass action with an integrated 20 MOA pic rail and 308 b/f, no ejector.
Trigger-
Bix’n Andy Competition
Stock-
Cerus XL with seven layer high grade figured walnut, curly bubinga and maple. RAD 2a system
Custom trigger guard
All stock work, minus clear coat, was done by Alex Sitman at Masterclass stocks. As you know, Alex’s pillar bedding jobs are second to none!
Clear coat done by Travis Greer
Pictures truly don’t do this stock justice.
Barrel(s)-
Barrel 1&2 have Dave Bramley tuners that will go with the sell.
Barrel 1 - 32” Bartlein 1-8.75 284 Shehane (.235 freebore, 316 neck) with 625 rounds fired. Chambered by Dwayne Draggoo (Draggoo Precision). Very good shooting barrel.
Dwayne replaced firing pin, firing pin spring, shroud, and cocking piece with Barrel#1 chamber job in November 2022. Have an extra new firing pin spring, never used that will go with it.
Barrel 2 - 30” Bartlein 1-7.5 6mm Dasher (.140 freebore, 274 neck) with 500 rounds fired. Chambered by Dave Tooley. This thing will shoot.
Barrel 3 - 32” Brux 1-8.5 284 Shehane (.235 freebore, .316 neck) with 1000 +\- rounds fired. Chambered by Dwayne Draggoo (Draggoo Precision). This rifle and barrel was one of the rifles that won the 2019 Canadian Fclass nationals team championship, placed 14th overall in the 2019 US long range Fclass Nationals. Mild load (sub 2800) with 184’s
Barrel 4- fireform barrel, 30” Bartelin 1-9 284 Shehane (same reamer as above) with 3600 rounds fired. Chambered by Dwayne Draggoo (Draggoo Precision). This started its life as a straight 284, was a hummer in that life, and it was rechambered at 2000 rds +\- to a Shehane as a fireform barrel. But this is no ordinary fireform barrel. This fireform barrel was a hummer and still shoot’s unbelievably good. I’ve won a couple short range matches fireforming brass with it and Cody won a National event doing the same with it.
Scope-
Vortex Golden Eagle 15-60 with ECR reticle. Kelbly rings and Vortex bubble level not shown in pictures.
Brass-
284 Win. Lapua - 100 pieces 2x-3x fired brass, neck turned to .0125 thickness, annealed every firing. Fired through fireform barrel and current barrel #1
6.5-284 Lapua - Undetermined amount of 3x-4x fired brass, somewhere in the 300 count range, neck turned to .0125 thickness, annealed every firing. Fired through fireform barrel and barrel #3.
Turn key set up!
$6200 as listed with scope/rings. $4800 without scope/rings. must ship to an FFL. Willing to split cost of shipping and insurance with buyer. If the buyer has a Pelican 1750, I have a cut insert I’ll throw in as well.
