Cerus Gen3 vs Dima Gen2

The Cerus has carbon fiber stringers and stabilized with epoxy. Also comes with forend rails, lower center of gravity and is GORGEOUS. The Dima has none of those and I was advised it may "move". The Dima is also beautiful but may require a more expensive finish to withstand wear and tear...auto clear coat, Cimtech etc.

My question is, have any of you shot both and have opinions. My experience is limited and I have a hard time understanding what kind of repeatability and precision there is to be had from spending the extra money. Also, is the movement or warpage of the Dima a valid concern or something any of you have experienced.

Thanks in advance.

Can you actually get a Cerus? I tried to contact them for 3 months before I ordered my Dima.
Few years ago, I got in line for a Cerus. Will said 6 month lead time. After a year of waiting and multiple failed attempts to get in touch with him, I went with a McMillian.

Well 2+ years after I originally got in line for a Cerus, Will reached out and said I'm next in line.

He makes a great stock. But expect to wait for it with poor communication!

I was fortunate and got my Dima off the prize table at Southwest nationals a year ago and I absolutely love it. My Gunsmith said he had no issues finishing or working on it compared to any other stocks, so I’m not sure, but I do know wood choice could possibly make a difference. Dima has a ton of different options as I know Cyrus does as well. What choice in wood you make can go along way towards how it’s finished and what’s required. I do know in most cases, Dima can deliver a stock in a few months from a war torn country. Dima has his own thoughts on carbon stringers and I’m sure both sides are right for different reasons. I have plenty of friends with Cyrus stocks who all love them too. I have nothing against either stock company and have seen winners with both.

I believe when CERUS says stabilized with epoxy thats just for the stocks with "Live Edges and voids" they poor the knots and voids with epoxy resin but the whole stock isn't saturated in resin. They still need to be finished and clear coated with a finish. Unless he offers that as an option but I didn't see that. The couple I looked at were unfinished raw wood.

Getting a hold of Will to order a Cerus is the challenge. He's a one man band with a long wait list whereas Dima seems to be able to churn stocks out on a more frequent basis. I own a Cerus and absolutely love it to bits, and yes, I have tried contacting Will to order two more but never heard back from him...Guess I'll just have to be thankful that I got one. I know a guy running a Dima in 284 and it shoots lights out, no issue with how either stock tracks, I think in the end availability may be your determining factor here.

Good looking stock with the contrasting colors.
I'm currently working on 1 very similar for @Tarmacshooter.20230403_113516.jpg
The Dima is a nice stock and should work very well.
A noticeable difference from a Cerus is there is no carbon fiber layers, the Dima has less taper from forend into the body and fewer details in design, more utilitarian less artistic if you will.16808687850984941016025244200643.jpg16808688194575434293043139269950.jpg

Sooooo....
I have another option for Fclass stocks.
Ol boys name is Dennis Ray out of New Mexico. I've had a few great conversations with this last week.
Here's a few pictures of what he's doing. He's offering entry level stocks up to highly figured live edge and epoxy.
Your wants will dictate pricing.
This 1 is headed my way for finishing.

I'll post his web address in a bit with some of his more entry level stocks.
All stocks come unfinished, but hey I know a guy thats pretty fair at making them shine.

If anybody anywhere can do it justice, it will be you Bro.

I order stock from Will with no any problems. Communication also has been fine.
Best (wooden) stock in the market also, imo.

Yeah... but lets be realistic here: communications from you probably get a little more attention than say others.

I know when I was looking for a stock last summer, I got zip for a response from Cerus. A certain gunsmith that I was talking to at the time - one who builds a *lot* of high-end guns with Cerus stocks - said "good luck getting ahold of him".

I was able to obtain a Cerus, but I would be interested in Dennis Rays info. Thanks for the input.
