Romo,

You'll probably get better results from inexpensive ball bearings from someone like Grainger or McMaster. They will provide a better impact on the bullets and are hardened. The hardening may help how well the moly is pounded onto the bullet.

Got to thinking about this, if you can find dense shotgun shot, that may be even better. I haven't tried it.

I called redding and the guy I talked to sent me a bag uncoated that they use in there dry neck lube.

I use the ceramic tire balancing beads for graphite lube in the neck. Just make sure the brass is clean or they can stick inside the neck.

I've been using a jar of small birdshot for the same thing. jd

Back in the mid 90’s I was using steel shot. It worked great. I am going to try the wet method for some milsurp rifles. Also, the neco kit I have for lubing necks has lead shot in it.
