Hey guys, just got finished cerakoting my rifle; I did the stock(HS), the action, barrel and bottom metal. I was told by the one of the techs at Brownells to blast a 120 grit finish before painting, so I did; he said that 120 grit was needed for proper paint adhesion.
Well I'm not real excited about the final finish; its ok for a hunting gun which this one is but I'm looking for something a little better. I have several more rifles that I'm building and was wondering if anybody out there had success with a finer finish than 120? I was thinking about trying 220 and then 400. The product applied great had no problems there; I was using a DeVilbliss touch up gun. I have painted airplanes and cars with my equipment so I didn't expect any problems with this little project. any input is appreciated. have stuff in the oven now will try to post a pic or 2 when I'm finished. Matt
