CCI primers?

Given the fact that Federal match primers are unobtanium what are the opinions of CCI benchrest primers, both large and small.
Thanks,
Pat

I'm seeing plenty of Federal Small Rifle Primers (both BR and regular) still around and available, but the Federal Large BR's have dried up. So I've just slowly started working on load development using the CCI's which are plentiful and so far are producing comparable results when the load has been fine tuned. I still believe those two primer manufacturers make the best and most consistent primers on the market today, if accuracy is your thing.

Alex,
Thanks for the info. I don't see any Federal primers anywhere, local or online, thus the question. I'll be trying CCI's.

Zero,
I'll be trying BR-2's as I can get them.
Thanks,
Pat

Are you guys seeing primer shortages? Iam seeing less and less locally..s@b primers are gone. And CCI sp and sr are getting hard to find for me.. I only buy local, they used to have tons of s@b at my local cabelas a month ago and now none. They were my go too SP practive load in 9mm..

When it comes to small rifle primers , in my Savage 223 and a RRA AR Remington 7 1/2 {match} shoot smaller groups at 300 yds. in tests using the same everything except primers. Next test will include CCI 450's as well.

I actually switched from CCI 450 to WSR in my .223 when I got excellent accuracy with Varget and 69 SMKs. This is a SR gun, so not exactly benchrest.

In my 6.5 Creedmoor I've been using BR2 and Reloder 17... They work well when it's cool, but SDs get high (mid-teens) when it's hot. I'm going to keep trying the BR2s with H4350 and see if that helps.

I have used BR2's in a 280AI for 2 years with no troubles. Understand this does not answer all primer questions. I look every time I go into a sporting goods store for 210m's. I have 215m's and 205m's but cannot find 210m's. Got really excited when found a brick of 205m. Then found out that most consider the CCI450 better for the 6.5x47.

I just found a deal at my LGS last week. I've been using Federal 210 for over 10 years, but couldn't find any. I found CCI 200 on sale for $2.19, so i got 1000. I checked a store in Baton Rouge on the advice of another member here, and they had Federal, both 210's and match the 210's were$44.50 per 1000. Gld i switched to
CCI.
