CCI 450s for Everything?

I know that many (MANY) shooters like the CCI 450 primers for their match loads in just about every cartridge. I am just wondering what it is about them that is so much better than non-magnum primers? I don't doubt that they work well, I simply don't know why. Anyone figure out the secret formula?

A harder cup, which can make for better ignition, is my input.
My suggestion is to take the word "Magnum" out of the equation. A 450 is just a primer with number bigger then 400 that has a harder cup. Pressure/velocity wise, in most everything I have compared the two (400 verses 450) the 400 will make slightly more.

I use CCI mags for everything, large and small. I do it, because I use Vaget and I believe mag primers are best with Varget or vice versa. In my rifles anyhow.

Mac T. at the old MT Guns told me that ten years ago. I simply can never seem to find any! Currently using Tula SR and 5.56 SR primers for .308 Palma and .223 Mid-range with good success but one must keep testing.

In my 6BR I found Wolf SRM ( the ones AR shooters love) to be the lowest SD.
450's and 205's did not work as well ! Powder was Varget and N150 .
