I have a 6BR in 8 twist and am planning to shoot 105VLD Berger's. I have been reading several posts about better performance with CCI primers versus Federal. My question is, which CCI is better, the 450 or the BR4? I am looking to shoot 600 and 1000 yard.

When we did a primer tests with 10-shot strings, the BR4 had a higher ES than the 450, however, that was due to one very low velocity shot. The SD was basically the same. Velocity was also the same, within a couple FPS.
After 5 days of Railgun shooting, Jack Schmidt feels the BR4s do produce slightly tighter groups--but it's a close call. He's shooting at levels now,.220 Agg at 200), that a very slight driver error at that distance on one shot throws everything off.
Jackie did observe that the Feds cratered earlier than either CCI when shooting Varget.
