CCI 350 for 10mm Auto?

I wasn't paying attention and thought I got a good deal on CCI 350 for use in my 10mm...

Is it safe to even attempt "load low and work up" seeing there is only about 10gr maximum (for my available powder - Sonchem S221) to start off with?

If you load low and work up all will be well. Loads with Alliant Blue Dot and 2400 were the only ones I found to benefit from magnum primers. Caveat primers were not CCI.

So... I took the risk and loaded "low" as well as a "max" load of CFE...

One set of 10 was with CCI 300 and 7.6gr of CFE Pistol (Max load)
One set of 10 was with CCI 350 and 7.0 gr of CFE Pistol

Both used 180gr plated FP bullets at the same max COAL.

Tragically, I did not setup my Labradar correctly, so I don't have any velocity data...

Both sets of cases have the same amount of typical Glock bulge near the head, and, at least to me, both made about the same "impression" on the primer - which I interpreted as being a tad "hot", since the rectangular firing pin opening impression is actually protruding from the primer...

I also only noticed AFTER picking up the casings that one or two of them had powder/gas marks covering the entire side of the case - from opening down to head - don't know from which batch it came...

Am I lucky to still have a functioning Glock 20 and eyes and fingers, or should I try again with .2gr less on both charges?

I recently loaded some BE-86 in 9mm with similar results. I was off the max by a bit. Backed way off on the second batch.

I am shooting BE-86 in my 10mm also. Seems to be a good fit for it as well as the 9mm once you get the charge right. Shoot really clean.
I am at 8.0 on a 180 gr bullet. with a CCI 300
