Caught The 5 Wire

I circled around the Bridger Mountains this morning to clean up a bunch of Gophers on a friends ranch. The snows gone off the hay fields and the gophers are out in big numbers. When you catch one near a fence, you can launch them high enough to put them on a wire. Most of the time they don’t make it past the second or third wire, but this one made it all the way to the 5th wire. About 90 yards with a little 20 caliber wildcat shooting 32 grain V-maxes at 4100. Got rained and snowed out at about 1 o’clock but still managed to whack about 200 of them.

Great shooting, but I'm curious about the fence. I saw one wood post and then an endless line of T posts. Don't think I've ever seen a wood fence post like that because it wasn't hedge or creosote. I'm not very smart or very enlightened, just curious.

There's only 1 wood post in that whole section. They put it there so I would have a place to set my rifle. It's really hard to balance a rifle on top of a T post. :)

Those staples look like they could be driven in a tad. Or maybe that's the way they do it for contraction and expansion.

Is he going to be ok?

On one of our first trips to the Rez in SD my buddy launched a dog way high with his 7mm. We kinda were over powered in those days.
