Cast bullets on prairie dogs

A friend has worked up a good cast bullet load for his 22 Squirrel,a reduced capacity 22 Hornet wildcat).

Also working on cast bullets for a 17.

Problem is casting enough bullets in his single cavity moulds for his prairie dog trips.

Any thoughts ?

I'd like to think he's going to run into fouling problems, as it's common practice to shoot between 200/300 rounds per day in a decent dog town. But I'm just guessing, that sure seems like a lot of lead going down a centerfire barrel.

For a hornet where you are not shooting very hard it shold be fine. If you use it for short range 125M and closer I can see you only needing 200 to 300 rds per day. Here reciently I have only been going in the afternoon and I still shoot 300 to 500 rds of 223.

My policy is if the town stinks I go else where. If you are planning on makeing a big trip take at least 1,000 rds for each day you will be shooting.

Here this year I had a 1,300 to 1,400 round day. Some days they just want to die. This was one of those days. I could not shoot fast enough. They would not go down and if they did maybe 5 seconds they were back up. I also never took a shot over 350 yds.

people,
I want to shoot where you shoot. I thought I had a good spot with 400 rounds a day. I would think a cast bullet would not be a good idea, noting richocets and no damage besides a hole. I want CARNAGE when I shoot dogs.
