CAST BULLET LOADS FOR AA SRB118

I load Cast Bullets, both gas checked and plain based, in 30-30, 308, 30-06, and 45-70. I have a surfeit of SRB118 and am looking for loads, both tried and true, and starting points. Please share your experiences with this old Data powder! Thanks in advance!

It was sold by Wideners or Midway back in the 1990s. It was about 8 Bucks a pound back then. Service Rifle Ball powder. My friend bought a case (32lbs) of it. He used about two pounds, and I inherited it from him. Loads posted for 223, 308, and 30-06.

I would not consider this powder for 45/70 period. There is not enough data available to support the use of this powder.AA5744 would be better with cast bullets in 45/70 and what kind of 45/70 are we referring to?

Yes, I agree, and I have a combination that shoots dy-no-mite! For 45-70, I use a 378gr RNGC with 21gr of 2400. It holds the X-ring at 100 yds through my Pedersoli Remington Rolling Block.
