Case trimmer

Hi All
I've been reloading for almost a year now and I want to upgrade from a lee case trimmer
My options are
L.E. wilson $310
Lyman express $170
Forster classic $197
FA platinum case trim center $225
FA drill trimmer $113
These are what they are going for in South Africa

The trimmer function on my FA center stopped trimming after 500 or so 223 cases. Tried everything I could think of, new trimmer cutting tool, adjustments, etc., etc., and moved one. WFT is simple and effective, but you do have 2 more steps to do. The FA center will handle those all day long, or the smaller FA prep center w/o the trim function is a good one as well. JMO

I've got the Wilson with hand turn and drill attachment and case holder for 3 calibers.
It'll outlast me.
I got along with the hand crank for under 200 round case prep 3yrs.
When i started shooting 3 rifles i got the drill attachment ...

It isn't something i use allot. 1-2 times a year.
It's a Cool toy !

Pre-owned RCBS Pro Trimmer 2 (powered) with 3-cuts heads, 5-heads on hand. Plus, I added an auto-programmable auto shut-off relay to synchronize all cuts.

I have been using the FA trim center since 2019. Couple of months ago the trimmer was acting up so I called FA for advice. They simply replaced the whole unit.

get the Wilson with the wilson base- sharkfin and micrometer( not sinclair). i went through quite a few manual trimmers that wouldnt hold case length dimension before i got a wilson. its all i use for manual trimming now. for bulk trimming of a single cartridge get the wft. worlds finest trimer —turn it with a drill or some kind of motor. i put mine in the lathe.

I have the Lyman Express. I've trimmed 1000's of cases with it. It's fast and accurate once you get the hang of it. It adjusts easily.

I have trimmers by Wilson, Lyman, C&H, and Redding. Most of those are retired now and I have switched to the LEE Quick trim, like the Wilson and C&H it isn't caliber specific so I can trim 204 Ruger, 22-204, 6mm-204 and 25-204 in the same trimer die without any adjustments. I keep an old Lyman turret press set up with 222 Rem, 223, 204 Ruger and 22-250 dies and can trim 9 different cartridges that I shoot and it is very accurate.

I do use the others for cartridges that Lee doesn't make dies for like my 6.5x58R and 9.3x72R and a couple others

Here’s another option

I have two Lyman hand crank case trimmers and I think that they are just fine, although I should get a power shaft for one of them. Lyman has a universal chuck a + imo.

But I also use some of the Lee case length gauge gizmos that use a battery drill.

I do not shoot enough rifle anymore or shoot competition where I'd need one of the higher-grade trimmers.
