Case Prep Station

I'm trying to cut some time off of brass prep. Recently bought a Henderson (which has been great BTW, very repeatable to simple to swap between multiple calibers). Right now I brush necks, clean shoulders, and uniform primer pockets with an 18v drill. It works fine, but a bit loud when doing late night reloading. Would also be nice to free the other hand up not having to squeeze the trigger.

Anyone have a solution that they like?

It's all noisy .
I resize/deprime then clean pockets with The rcbs station ......
really messes up my ZEN.

In beginning of brass prep after trimming the rcbs station is a huge help. I was doing it all with hand tools.
can't imagine doing it that way again.

I use the one made by Lyman. Its not as fast as using a cordless drill but I think its easier to use and its quiet. I use the Lee case trimmer attachments with the Lyman as well. Works good enough for me but I'm not a bench rest shooter. I can trim to length, champher inside and outside the necks, clean the primer pockets one handed. I can also open up the primer pockets on military style brass, large or small. Like I said, works good enough for me. YMMV

I bought the Lyman years ago.... I don't shoot rifle like alot here but I do shoot it especially in .223.... I absolutely love that thing.... I will never go back to not using a prep station.... This year I added a lee trimmer to it and it works perfectly especially for less than $20 for the trimmer and it just screws into the station like any other tool...

Any of the motorized case prep centers are an easy solution to this problem.

I have gifted the Frankford Arsenal version to many of my rookie reloader friends. It serves as a back-up trimmer as well as it has several stations to drive primer pockets tools and neck brushes as you desire.

There are several other good ones on the market that have been around for years and decades.

If you stick with your version, I would rig a foot switch.

I have never seen these before, but think that it might fit the bill.

The single chuck would be the dealbreaker on that, and the price. Have to change tools and handle the cases too many times still. Lyman and RCBS and Hornady units do more and are far cheaper.
One good idea I've seen, for someone that doesn't have an annealer, or a case prep ctr, is a version of one similar to an Annealeez, that has 4 or 5 stations on the top of the case for debur tools and brushes. Mental blank on the name at the moment.

On my RCBS there are 6 stations 4 that rotate and 2 stationary.
Champher, debur, on the back large and small stainless brushes for primer pocket, on top 2 nylon for necks.
less than a minute per case, done.

just got the new carbide outside chamfer tool. Gonna try it out tonight on some LC 7.56 brass. Will comment later on how it works. For $57, I hope it well.

Yes I found one that I like. I hate to do prep and want it done faster. The Lyman case trim makes far less of of a chore. I use all the parts listed below and they all work well. The magnet I put in the bottom of the bathtub and it will catch any stray pins. Same with the hand magnet. You can almost not use pins if you want to save more time.

1. Lyman’s Case Trim Xpress - This is so fast and easy 100x better than the hand crank ones in terms of speed.
2. Lyman Case Prep Xpress Case Prep Center
3. Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Rotary Case Tumbler + Sifting Caps
4. Frankford Arsenal Media Transfer Magnet for Stainless Steel Media
5. Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Wet/Dry Rotary Media Separator
6. Ferrite Ring Magnet, 4In Dia, Ceramic (amazon)
7. Lyman Case dryer - works well and heat rises from below not the opposite like on some dryers.

I would probably buy the same thing again. Some of it is much cheaper now, like the tumblers is like $60.00 off on midway now.

I found one on Ebay for $39.99. Just received it a couple hours ago and have already used it on 200 cases. Man, I wish i had one of these years ago. SO much better than the old style, cuts like butta.
RCBS 90384 is the part number

Just FYI... I have the Lyman as stated above.... One thing I didn't like was their tools.... Changed out the chamfer and debur to a different company... Used rcbs for pocket cleaners also....

Cranked out 250 LC 7.56 brass last night .(750 to go). That new carbide chamfer tool made by RCBS, is well worth the money, believe me.
