Case Prep Gear Motor

Hi,
Here are a couple of pictures of gear motor. It is a Wet/Dry Grinder (Central Machinery) , model 35098. It has a 6 inch dry grinding wheel and a 8 wet grinding wheel. Both have been removed. Direct drive shaft is 3550 RPM and will be left unused FOR NOW. Gear box shaft is 12mm (packaging says1/2, but caliper says 12mm) and spins clockwise at 160 RPM's.
Adaptor is being made that will slide on gear box shaft (which will be shortened once completed) and attach with 2 set screws. The other end of this adapter will have a universal shell holder (LYMAN) threaded in it.

Should be handy for any and all case prep operations, but is mainly built for neck turning.

Grinder was purchased from Harbor Freight with 20 % off coupon (can get on line). I think it was $52.00+or- with coupon.
Lyman universal case holder was order from Lyman I believe for about $16.00 plus shipping.

Adapter is being made by KevinL a member of accurateshooter forum. ( I will let Him price them).

Should have considerably less than $100.00 in finished product!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I will let you know about performance once adapter is complete. I can't imagine not having plenty of POWER, it is 1/2 HP.

I am sure adapter could be made to drive any case holder of choice.

Thanks to all who offered HELP and suggestions. They are always welcome and appreciated.

THANKS FOR ALL THE ANSWERS OVER THE LAST WEEK OR TWO

Suggestions for improvement still WELCOME

Recever head yesterday in the mail. I just finished the adaptors. The thread size is 9/16-18 with a locating centering chanfer with a oversized shank.
Going by your mesurmentsI set it up with 2set screws.
I did make it out of stainless (it just looks better).
I will send them in the mail in the morning.
Let me know how it works? If it is loose on the shaft send it back with the piece of shaft you trimm off and I can get a snug fit that wont woble.
The other thing I would sugjest is puting a set screw on the drive side so as you put cases in and out it has no chance of coming loose.
Good luck with your project.
