Case ID help

Seeking help with ID this one on the left...

photo next to a 30 BR.
Its made from 7 br rem brass
Neck is 7mm
Trimmed rim is 223 bolt face
Possible red cornelison wildcat, came from his stash I beleive.

A 30 BR that someone has turned the base so he can shoot 30BR in a rifle with a 223 bolt face. Not often seen turned to 223 but more common turned to shoot 30BR on a PPC bolt face.

7br. But same narrative. Thats what I get so far too. And not neck turned yet...

Could be it was never finished making this case..

Hey OP, is that SRP or LRP brass on the left? I never even considered rebating that far as an option but it might just solve a problem for me.

Likely tried at a customer request to use an existing action. Maybe a swap-Barrel rifle? Dunno. But I bet caselife was short.

I would venture to guess that 99% of the Remington XP-100 pistols were originally chambered in .221 Fireball which has the .378 case head like .223, .222, etc. It looks like someone decided to rebarrel the XP from a 221 Fireball to a 7 BR and rebated the rims to work with the small bolt face. Many, many years ago I use a XP-100 in .221 Fireball to build a 7mm TCU which allowed me to use the small bolt face.
