Case forming dies.....the simple answer is buy RCBS or Redding forming dies.

The least expensive answer is to use what dies you have and make do until the parent brass you are forming will go into your standard die. In the attached photo I lined up some cases that I process for a buddy of mine. 223 parent case run through 300 Whisper/Blackout die, then run part way into 270 Ren die, then run into the .221 Fireball die. Case on the far right was then ready to go thru 300W case cutter to be shortened. My buddy than ran them through annealer, 20 Vartarg die, and then neck turned. 223 case to 20 Vartarg with no high dollar "Forming" die even used.

Trim dies and bullet seating dies are used quite often in forming wildcat brass. You can find them quite often in garage sales and classifieds..e..b..a..y...I have several $5 die set for calibers I don't shoot. They are used in a sizing operation like in the photo. One partial step in the creation of new case...

Hope this helps.

Steve :)

Look at the case dimensions in your loading manual for a standard die set that will work to form your brass.
Then buy a standard die set when you can. If not you can pay big bucks for new forming dies or you can scrounge.
A .30 Luger (or .30 Mauser) and .256 Win dies are useful for pushing the shoulder back on 5.56 brass.
Some short fat dies are very useful for a number of rounds. I have used .357 AutoMag, 44-40 Win and 8mm Kurz.
