Cartridge comparison question

I am very interested in these to cartridges.
1) .20 vartarg
2) .20 duster
I shoot both .221 fireball, and .17 fireball so I think I have a good idea of what the .20 vartarg will be like, and what it can do.
But the .20 duster is new to me and I would like to know more about it..About all I knows is it's a .20 Cal. and I believe it is made from a neck down .222 Remington case..What kind of velocity do they get, are they barrel burners..Ylwould you pick one over a .20 vartarg? If you had to choose..
Please fill me in..
Thanks guys

I have 3 20 Dusters and love them.I also have a Cooper in 20VT and love it
the VarTarg will amaze you for what it does from such a small case,I absolutely loved my 17 Mach1V,but wished it had a little more "gore"factor.
When the 20VT came out I fell in love with its ability to throw PD's in the air and really reach out and kill pds,it has the gore factor covered.Amazing what a little more bullet weight does. Now my idea for a little better pd gun came along when my friend Dan designed the 20Duster,I chose to shoot 40's at between 3750 and 3800fps,I used a BAT action and an eleven twist
micro fluted PAC-Nor 26"long.I'm sure the 20 Tactical and 204 would reach further but for my shooting style the Duster can do it,the barrel doesn't get too hot and it is very accurate with the 40's a pds is dead meat within 600yds.The other two dusters are built on Sakos for coyotes, but that's another story.:)The Sakos are 12 twist and shoot the 32's at just over 4000fps.The Duster case has a 40 degree shoulder and a little shorter neck than the Bobcat, also derived from the awesome 222 case.My idea was to build an accurate rifle for all day shooting,I by no means am pushing the Duster hard,it is accurate and built to last.I have learned since building my Duster that guys are really tuning their 20 VT's to shoot 40's very fast, look up some of Adam Bentleys post's simply amazing.Man if I had to pick just one,I'd really have to think about an 11 twist VarTarg shooting 40's.

Thank you for all the info..It is greatly appreciated.
I'm surprised to hear you would pic a vartarg over the duster..But if that was the case would you use a pac-nor barrel with 40 gr. Bullets in the vartarg..Again it that an 11 twist for that bullet wieght....Just kind of thinking of the future ..I have a CZ 527 in 221 fire ball that would work perfectly for the 20 vartarg..After I shoot the barrel out..

I shoot a total of five .20 cal rifles, including the 20VT. That said, if I intend to shoot 40gr bullets in a .20 cal rifle, I would choose an 11 twist every time, period. I built a M700 in 204R Match with a Pac-Nor 11 twist, and it still amazes me what that thing will do shooting the 40's. The 12 twist is just too marginal for 40 grain bullets, when the 11 twist will get it done properly and without fuss.

Have you guys tried various bullet manufacturers of 40gr.'s..Are 40's all that shoot good out of an 11 twist..
Do you need to have the lead adjusted during chambering special for the 40's..
Thanks

the Berger 40 is the shortest 40 grain bullet in 20 caliber and will do fine with a twelve twist. For all of the other 40's I would suggest the 11 twist.
Just to be safe, you can also shoot the lighter bullets in an eleven with no
ill effects.I would also have the gunsmith throat the rifle with zero freebore.
Mine shoot fine that way.
