Cartridge Collecting

Someone on here sent me a message or posted on a thread, requesting me to get them a 224 valkyrie case as I had picked up some at my local range.

I had told who ever it was I had some, but hadnt cleaned brass yet to find it again.. well I got it all cleaned and separated today I got about 10 of em now..

Just FYI, I looked tonget back ahold of you but cant find you. I said Id get one for him but cant remeber who is was.

If anyone else wants one lemme know, I got some to get rid of.

Sniper338, it was me. Thanks to everyone for the heads-up and assistance.

I'll pm you my mailing info. Thanks again.

...He needs to post some photos of his collection.

I do on occasion make a post on other's threads when they're inquiring about cartridges, and I'll post cartridge comparisons side-by-side. One day I plan to make some kind of display. I currently have my cartridges in cigar boxes by caliber, but I keep detailed notes in an Excel file. My favorite 6mms/.243s are in a custom loading block. Here's a photo of when my collection was young, not in cigar boxes, and of the current loading block:

Thank you to everyone who has generously assisted my collection over the years. It has been rewarding and a pleasure making so many connections around the globe.

Are there any that you are still looking for?

Yes, and the list would be huge. Wildcatting has led to many thousands of different cartridges. I believe PTG alone has reamer specs for over 35,000 cases!

I usually just keep an eye out for a wildcat I don't have by attending some trade shows, talking to members at our gun clubs and connecting with many members on a variety of forums. Thanks for asking.

Thatd be fabulous! I need to get a list together of what I lack to really beef it up. Don so you have an excell sheet with all the calibers youve found already?

Yes. It makes it so much easier to identify what I have/not have, who from/or where obtained, cartridge history if noted, as well as other info. The collection was simply getting too large to manage from my memory alone.

Id like to get a 20mm, 30mm, tank shell, battleship, etc, but I donno where to find those.. lol

I know I dont have a 30BR or 6ppc. But theres tons others. I need to get a list together and start buying from people.
