Carbon-fibre & alum bipod??

Saw a couple of pics on the on-line magazine "Target Shooter" in regards to bi-pods. Are there any North American companies making F-T/R bipods that are in the same class as the Sinclair International F-Class bipod? Anybody have a link or contact information on Ian Dixon's products?

Ian ("Willie") Dixon is a retired construction engineer who lives in West Yorkshire, England and is a keen competitor in a number of disciplines, but especially F/TR where he has taken 2nd and third place overall in the GBFCA League, last year and this.

This is his second F/TR bipod design. He made a few copies of his first, a simpler but very good and light all aluminium model, for a few friends myself included, but I doubt very much if he would do it for the type shown on the Accurateshooter Blog / TargetShooter.co.uk - the amount of work in fabricating the components stops it being a commercial proposition even if Ian wanted to be spending his time making the things! Incidentally, Ian also made the stock on the rifle.

Have a look at the Remple bipod on this link which will be on sale shortly if you're interested in buying a design that uses carbon fibre legs to keep the weight down.

I hope this helps.

Laurie,

If you are the Laurie I think you are, can I just say how much your opinions and research have influenced me over the years (and hopefully for future years to come)

Apologies to FTPinTexas for going off-topic
